This fun online game a person could get hooked on. The setting is similar to the movie. You design a characters size, sex and shape before taking on the Caribbean in a pirates shoes(or sandals).

Kick your way out of jail(you don't die here but put in the jail, closest to were you were defeated in battle. If you loose a battle at sea you return to the jail at the last port you sailed from.)

Now you have a strange world to explore. The British military, undead pirates, giant wasps, alligators, bats and many other dangers face you (the pirate) and your rusty sword the weapon you start with. Later you acquire a gun, voodoo doll and cannons by completing quests assigned to you by various characters in the game. As you complete your quests notoriety is gained and leveling is risen as fights are won.

At many times during the game one may be surrounded by enemies, most of the time it takes provoking to engage in a battle. Simply stay away from the higher level enemies at first to avoid a good swift butt kicking. However much higher level creatures and ships may be defeated when the situation involves more than one pirate. Just gang up on the enemies with your fellow online 'hearties'.

This is were I think I am missing out on a lot of the games design intent, socialization and pirates forming crews. I am not a very social player, helping others only when the situation arises. Occasionally another player will get on my ship and man a cannon.

The high seas...my favorite part of the game. You get two ships one small and one large. I like the small one it seems easier to maneuver during battle. The larger one may be able to inflict and sustain more damage I'm not sure. When engaged in high seas battle right click and hold down to adjust the view of your opponent this is crucial to winning. After sinking the enemy ship you are rewarded with booty. As with normal combat, players can work together. Players cannot harm each other but if you want to fight other gamers online you can do so in a special mode.

I have barely scratched the surface of this interesting game. At level eight I am still a rookie running around this world completing tasks and sinking ships for fun. I have to also mention I am playing the free version, to cheap to spend the five bucks a month for all kinds of upgrades. In summary I give this game a 10!

Super Smash Bros. Brawl has been out for a few days and after having played it plenty of times, I'd have to say this is the best Super Smash Bros. yet. However, that doesn't mean everything feels improved over previous versions but almost everything is. I'm referring to the characters especially. I'm sure I'm not the only one who feels this way about the characters they like to use. There is always some kind of change to your favorite character going from one installment to the next. It may be better and it may be worse.

One of my favorite characters from previous installments is Donkey Kong. He seems slower now and less effective than before. On the other hand, his charged up power punch can be released sooner like how it was in N64. Mario's water spraying fludd pack also seems useless to me for now until I figure out how to use it better. Bowser is now faster than in Melee and is actually fun to use. I'm sure there are a lot of character changes that you like or dislike, but I think we just have to get used to them again and we'll discover the new advantages that were added to each character.

A gameplay change that affected me in a major way is the lack of the ability to easily drop down from a platform while running. I enjoyed using this ability to drop down real quick to deceive the opponent into believing that I'm actually going down, but then I'll jump back up and attack. Throws are not as strong as before, so the focus wouldn't be on trying to grab all the time like I did with Melee. These changes may be to balance gameplay, but I sure do miss them.

There are now tons of items you can use to your advantage. We all know about the final smash ball that gives you a tremendous advantage over your opponents. Depending on who you use, the final smash can be fatal. Link can take care of you quickly if you get caught in his triforce attack. The fun part is when everyone is fighting for the ball and you are the one that gets it. If someone else gets it though, it's cheating and not so fun. There is also a clock that slows down time, an assist trophy that spawns a helper to fight for you and a whole lot more items to affect gameplay.

Characters are abundant now so you can always find someone you like to play as. There are many to choose from in the beginning and many to unlock. The new characters are balanced and fit well into the game and the veteran fighters went through some changes for better or worse like I mentioned. Each character is different and have their ups and downs. You'll have to get used to the characters' moves and find out the advantages and disadvantages of each move so you'll know when to execute and when and what your opponent will execute.

The graphics are better of course, but not by much. Sometimes the game will even remind you of Melee especially if you play in a Melee level. The stages and the characters are more detailed and you'll see cool effects that's not possible in Gamecube during a final smash. Super Smash Bros. Brawl will definitely remind you of Melee, but there are enough changes and enhancements in graphics and gameplay that you'll know you're playing Brawl.

Multiplayer is a feature that wasn't available in previous Smash Bros versions and is a blast to play in Brawl. You can now test your skills against the world and see how good you really are. There are plenty of good players out there that can humble you. You can easily find friend codes on the internet if you don't have many friends. Lag can sometimes be a problem when someone has a slow connection and that's when you're not able to play at your best. The positive is that if you lose, you can blame the lag.

Besides playing with your friends through friend codes, you can also let the system search out a match for you. This is great for people with no friends or for older folks who are too embarrassed to ask friends for friend codes. One feature I wish they would have added is online tournaments. This feature would make it easier for friends to set up tournaments without leaving their homes. Tournament is available in offline mode however, but who goes out these days when you can easily communicate over the internet? I'm joking, but tournament on Nintendo WFC would be icing on the cake.

Super Smash Bros. Brawl is a great game and one of the best on the Wii. It can be a great party game or even to play alone with all the unlockables and Nintendo WFC. It's not a dramatic upgrade over Melee but it's enough to warrant a purchase. The Nintendo WiFi mode alone automatically makes this game a must have. Add in all the cool new characters, levels and items, plus enhanced graphics and this game will be a solid fighter that will last for several years just like the previous Super Smash Bros. games. Melee was already great and you can't go wrong building on that and you can't go wrong buying Super Smash Bros. Brawl.

NCAA 08 did not get many new features this season, but it is still a great game for the XBOX 360 and Playstation. If you are familiar with this football game series and are looking for something new then you will probably be disappointed. NCAA 08 is an excellent game, but if you own NCAA 07 there is not very much in the way of change for the new version. The Game play is the same and the graphics are very tight, just like last year's version. So, the best thing to do is talk about the new features of NCAA 08 that were not included in last year's version.

At first look dynasty mode looks and feels the same, but there are a few minor tweaks. The biggest change to dynasty mode is off the field in recruiting. Recruiting new players in NCAA 08 has a much more hands on feel to it this season. First, you will select thirty five players to focus on, rank the players in order of importance, and call them on the phone to establish a relationship. The interest aspect about this phase of recruiting is you need to be careful of the conversation you have with each recruit. Your school is ranked, so you will need to pick topics that closely match your school the players interest. An icon will indicate if the player is buying your speech or not, pretty cool feature. Another feature of recruiting is after you have established a relationship with a player over the phone, you will then want to schedule a campus visit. You will need to select activities for this player that match their interest to get the player interested in your school. As you can see, the recruiting phase of NCAA 08 is much more involved this season.

Campus legend mode was added to the XBOX 360 and Playstation three versions this season. First, pick you position and school. Once you have picked position and school you will play in the state's high school playoffs. You are motivated to do well because at the end of the game you will be offered a scholarship to a school. Most of the time if you pick a top 25 school you will have to work your way up the depth chart, but this really easily done by attending practice and you can attain the number 1 spot in a matter of weeks. The one aspect about the campus mode that I don not like is that you can only control plays in which your player is involved. This can be frustrating in two ways. The camera only focuses on your player, so you can not always see the entire field. Second, you are not the coach, so you do not get to select how many plays you will be involved in.

Overall NCAA 08 is a great football video game for the next generation systems. Compared to NCAA 07 this game adds the features that were missing from the game last season.

If you are a fan of Real-Time Strategy games, and a Star Wars buff, then Star Wars: Empire at War is the game for you. Created by LucasArts and Petroglyph, Star Wars: Empire at War (further abbreviated as SW:EAW) allows players to fight on the ground and in the space above over forty planets in the Star Wars universe. While the main focus is on tactical control, players also get a grand overview of the galaxy from which you can control and purchase new units and buildings. Overall, SW:EAW is the best RTS of its type.

The game focuses on conflicts between the Empire and Rebel forces just before the fourth movie. Each side has its own units, although both have the same types generally. Both sides also have a campaign, which gives the player missions complete, although you can control what units to purchase and where to attack. SW:EAW's other main element is Galactic Conquest, an open campaign where the player selects which scenario (which sets the number of planets), starting money (called credits), and technology level. Tech levels are also important, unlocking new units and building types. Finally, SW:EAW is rounded off by an instant action mode, also available on multiplayer.

The greatest action and fun to be had is in the space battles. Everything a Star Wars fan could hope for and more can be found in these epic battles. Every ship present in the movies is present, from small fighters like Tie's and X-Wings to capital ships, like Imperial Star Destroyers and Mon Calamari Cruisers, the Rebellion equivalent. At least one side usually has a space station, from which upgrades and units and be purchased (units only in Instant Action), and the Empire can construct the Death Star in Galactic Conquests. Larger ships and stations have hardpoints which can be specifically attacked, so players can take down the most important systems first. Visuals and sound are magnificent and sound "realistic" to Star Wars.

Ground battles also involve many of the same qualities, but seem to be much more constrained. There is still a great variety of units, but the maps seem too small. While space battles allow lots of movement, ground battles can be slow as units traverse the battleground. The attacker must capture reinforcement points to bring in more units, and points around the battlefield can be captured and built into different turrets or support buildings. The AI won't win any awards either, mainly just coming straight at you, but the visuals are still great.

An expansion pack, Forces of Corruption, has been released since SW:EAW's launch, which adds a new faction with all new units and buildings and more planets. I would recommend picking up the dual pack of both games, since the expansion is great. I have also barely touched on the galactic overview part of the campaigns. This game is a great addition to the RTS genre and brings Star Wars into it in a good way. With a great variety and almost unlimited replayability, Star Wars and RTS fans alike should pick up this fantastic title.

For a long time now there has been two ways to collect a Chaos army in Warhammer.

These are the Hordes of Chaos and Beasts of Chaos armies, from May 2008 there will be a third, Daemons of Chaos (Chaos Daemons in Warhammer 40k)

In this article I'll run through the characteristics of the existing two armies and let you know what you are likely to find in the new daemonic Chaos army.

I'll briefly explain what Warhammer and Chaos are, Warhammer is the worlds most popular tabletop fantasy wargame and Chaos form a primordial evil force within the fictional Warhammer world. Chaos has a corrupting influence on all that it touches and exposure whether intentional or accidental can lead to physical mutation and madness. The insane and the desperate sometimes fall to the worship of Chaos either in it's entirety or an individual facet. The four most common facets are as follows; Khorne the blood god, Slaanesh god of pleasure, Tzeentch god of change and Nurgle lord of decay. Right that's the basics covered, on with the article...

First up, the Hordes of Chaos, this army can take one of two main forms. If the army is led by a mortal, then mortal troops form its core choices and daemonic troops count as special choices. Conversely, in armies that are led by a daemonic general, daemons form the core, and mortal troops count as special choices. Troop choices are also influenced by the Chaos god worshiped by the general. Troops may also be incorporated from the Beasts of Chaos army list, which is fully compatible with the Hordes of Chaos rules. It is likely that this will also be the case with the Daemons of Chaos army list.

A Hordes of Chaos army can contain a wide range of both mortal and daemonic troops. The mortal units that a Chaos army can bring to bear include Chaos Warriors, both infantry and cavalry, these are the elite mortal troops of Hordes of Chaos army, and the rank-and-file Chaos Marauders. The daemonic units available are incredibly varied. Each of the four Chaos gods having there own pantheon that they can field. In addition to this any Chaos army can also include the Furies and Spawn of Chaos to the fray.

Secondly, Beasts of Chaos, these armies are predominantly formed from herds of Beastmen, these creatures are part man, part beast. Either men that have became part beast or animals that have became part man through the mutating influence of Chaos. They live in the dark places of the Warhammer world, forming roaming warbands led by the strongest amongst them. Beastmen hordes are lethal in battle, forming a merciless horde of ruthless warriors, fielding huge war-chariots, packs of savage hounds and bands of larger beasts eager to tear apart any enemy that dares to stand in their way. Beasts of Chaos can also fight alongside troops from the Hordes of Chaos list.

Thirdly, Daemons of Chaos, this new army list is likely to be compatible with the Chaos lists just as the existing ones can be used together, for more on this we need to wait and see. What is known for certain is that there will be a whole host of new daemonic troops available. These include the Masque for Slannesh, the Karanak and Bloodcrusher for Khorne and some additional daemonic troops, including the Skulltaker (most likely Khorne) and the Epidemius who's affiliation is yet to be confirmed.

Another thing that is guaranteed is that the new Daemons of Chaos army book will include loads of new background information on the nature of Chaos and the Daemons of four great Chaos powers. I for one can't wait.

In most American commercials, literally, a man and woman run around chasing each other on a beach half-naked; lovingly they embrace each other and kiss, implying "Forget about reality, let's make love. Forget about the fact that you might have a disease, and I have a big chance of getting pregnant. Forget about it." The more people watch these commercials, the more they believe these intended messages to be true. Forget about everything, only love and passion matters! Wrong! Today, the statistics on people diagnosed with having a sexually transmitted disease is high, and the statistics on young teens becoming impregnated is high. And, because of these teens having babies that they're unable to take care of, there are millions of children in foster care right now without any real place to call home.

In her essay, Joyce Garity, a social worker, hits every subject pertaining to "sex in media" and pinpoints what negative messages the world is sending out to our youth today. She refers to one girl in particular. Elaine had come to live with her for a while. Troubled and nearly lonesome in the world, she was pregnant again with her second child while her first child had already been placed in a foster home. When asked by Garity why she allowed herself to become pregnant again, she said she thought birth control and condoms to be unromantic and embarrassing; one couldn't really be passionate with sex and worry about using contraceptives at the same time. In other words, Elaine was just another brainwashed individual, lost in a fantasy where negativity doesn't exist. Forget about reality!

How can we deprogram the damage that has been done by the media? We can start by self-educating ourselves through self-help books. Through self-educating ourselves, we obtain knowledge and through knowledge come a transformation of our way of thinking, acting and feeling. Let's start making our own conclusions as to how we should live based on righteous morals and norms.

The desire to escape reality whenever possible is always an option in today's world. It began with movie theaters, and now has evolved into a personal, transportable device that still sits in your own bedroom. All it takes is high-speed internet access and an internet browser to fulfill all your virtual needs.

But over recent years, a new genre of computer video games has allowed young and older alike, to engage in a world unlike any other: a world where you can recreate your own self in numerous amounts of different environments; past, present, and future.

Granted, such virtual realities can be remarkably enjoyable and fun. If you're tired from the drag of everyday life, pop open a laptop with the right capabilities, and you have World of Warcraft logging you on to your own fantasy.

I myself even tested the waters of the "Massive Multiplayer Online RPG" world, as it is called, or MMORPG, for short. Of course, with my interest in comics and everything superhero, I went with the PC game, City of Heroes.

I was addicted from the moment I finally was able to get a proper hard drive for it. It was the "Sims epidemic" all over again. I found myself engulfed in my own character for hours and hours on end, sacrificing sleep and occasionally a bit of food in order to play the game. It was almost if I had "born" a new identity. Plus, kicking butt against virtual villains that are seemingly infinite in a crime-ridden land proved a good stress-buster as well. But as time passed, it got a little tiresome, as games usually do. After about 3 months of waning interest, I finally stopped for a long while because of school and entering into college life.

But for some, it's not that easy to get away. What really caught me by surprise was how long some people had been playing in the game. Now, I believe City of Heroes has been running since 2004, due to its 2nd anniversary being in May 2006. That would total around 3 years. Recently, the company decided to input Veteran awards for how long many of the players stayed devoted to the game. Once I logged in after a long absence, I was proud at the six month badge I had received which deemed me as "Faithful."

However, upon looking at other players' badges, I witnessed some surprising numbers that trampled my six-month stay into the dust. Some players had been devoted for 18, 24, even 36 months! Now that would account for 2-3 years since 2004. Still, this notification does not prove that they were on every single day during that time, but usually you would cancel your subscription if you were not interested in playing in the future.

Still, City of Heroes isn't as dangerous as World of Warcraft, from what I hear. I've never played the game before, but I do know a friend who has played it and most likely still is, and people have told me stories of how mesmerizing this game can be. One involved a student being kicked out of his college campus for non productivity. Another was said to have been absent from all outdoor life for two years.

Even if these stories are blown out of proportion, friends or family should watch for signs and symptoms of an entranced player. If you call your son or daughter down to eat, and they do not answer or simply say, "No," Then that's the time to check what's going on. If you don't see one of your friends on campus in a few days, give him a call. In fact, if you know your friend is the type to play a video game for hours on end, ask him or her out to hang with you or grab a bite to eat. Do your best, and try to let them breathe fresh air and experience the light of day again. A good way to get away from excessive time on the laptop is experiencing the outside world and keeping busy. If you and your friends routinely do things that do not involve leveling up, (as long as it is deemed acceptable) you might as well give it a shot. Spending all your time on an online RPG is not the most healthy thing to do in the world both physically and mentally.

As humans, we need companionship. Show that you're a true friend to those who may be a little too involved in video gaming. Call them up often, or even encourage them to go places with you. Let them know that they are wanted. That's one of the best things you can do as true friend to those who are engulfed in the virtual reality of the internet.

That does not mean players must end their time completely in their online fantasy. Online RPGs are still lots of fun to play. Just make sure that your friends or family get a bit of smaller, healthier doses of the game if you think they are experiencing too much. After all, there would never be a virtual reality if there wasn't a reality to live in first.

A few years ago, the developers at Electronic Arts (EA for short) attained exclusive rights to the NFL license to produce the already widely popular Madden video game series. This meant that no other video game developer out there, could put out a video game with NFL players, names and likenesses in their video games! By attaining this exclusive license, EA effectively knocked out the competition in the football video game market. In essence, Madden is the only football game with the names and likenesses of real NFL players. To many in the video game industry, this was a very smart and lucrative deal for EA. For the Maddenites out there, myself included, we were skeptical. The John Madden franchise only had one real competitor, and they were the developers at Visual Concepts.

Visual Concepts are the brainchild of the 2k series of sports games that include,baseball, hockey, college football and of course, the NFL. In the 2005-06 season of NFL football, the developers at Visual Concepts did something unheard of in video games. They sold their popular NFL2k5 football series for 20 bucks! The gaming community had mixed reviews, and the game was really good. For 20 bucks you can beat it! I was surprised when I found out! I don't know if they were trying to make a statement about pricing in video games, but coincidentally the following year, the NFL gave the people at EA the exclusive rights to the NFL license in video games. (I personally think that Visual Concepts pissed off the NFL with the price of their game.)

The first year of the exclusive license, in my opinion, wasn't so great. Madden '05 was released with the same hype as the other Madden's. To the true Maddenites out there, it was just okay, nothing special. With the ever growing influence of the Xbox console system, Madden '06 slowly started to become known as the game to play on XBOX. This was a shift from the earlier years of Madden. True Maddenites know that Madden was played best on the PS2! The XBOX 360 changed all that with Madden '07 and '08. The yearly Madden tournament was no longer played on PS2, the XBOX 360 was the new home of MADDEN. Maddenites were okay with this shift, it took some time to get used to the Xbox 360 joystick, but as long as we could play the game, we could care less. However , we were still waiting for that Madden that was gonna us say WOW! Madden '09 is that game!!!

First of all, Madden '09 is the best graphically it has ever been. Madden has always been good graphically, but '09 has some of the best. Gone are the stiff, statuesque player models from Madden '07 and '08. My main complaint on Madden'07 and '08 were the stiff player models. The player models didn't move like NFL players. They moved like statues. It seemed like the developers concentrated more on the wrinkles in the player uniforms and the player arms. They fixed these problems in '09 and made the player models look and move more realistic.

In the beginning of Madden '09 there is a new feature called the Madden IQ test. What the test does is measure you on how well do in the four main areas of the game: rushing, passing, rush defense and pass defense. from this point in the game, your Madden IQ is used in conjunction with another new feature, the Madden My Skill feature. The My Skill feature adjusts the computer difficulty of the game as you play! So eventually you will get to play against the computer on the coveted All-Madden level! One of my favorite features of the game is the EA Sports Backtrack. This feature shows you the mistakes that you have made during the game. If you throw and interception, it shows you who was open. If you are blitzed and sacked, it shows you where you should have been looking, instead of down the throat of the blitzing linebacker! This is a tool that both the rookie and veteran Maddenite can benefit from.

All in all, I am very impressed! This is the game that Maddenites everywhere have been waiting for! You will not be disappointed! Some games are worth the wait. Madden '09 is that game!

If the devs would have added a little more....ok a lot more, atomic racer would be a must play title. Gameplay is entirely solid just not realized to its full potential. The game itself looks ok, the explosions that happen here and there leave you with a little something but not enough. For the 30 seconds Atomic Racer leaves you entertained, I know something else I can do in the same time with a little more pay off.

Right about now I can already hear the groaning beginning from moms across the country: "Summer's almost here! What am I going to do with these kids?" Don't abandon them to the TV, for starters, and don't over schedule them. Instead, give them a summer with nothing to do, and the tools to do it with.

Around our house, we often joke that we're raising 19th century kids. A lot of the source materials we use in homeschool are from that era--for instance, the McGuffey readers and speller.

Among our very favorite books are the "Handy Books" of Dan Beard and his sisters, proto-scouting manuals for the late 19th century kid looking for cool things to do that still work splendidly for 21st century kids looking for something to do. Even so, many of the activities in those books don't work for today, not least of which because we're not as rural as we used to be.

Enter The Dangerous Book for Boys, a bestseller in the UK that's just being published here in the States. Brothers Conn and Hal Iggulden have put together a handsome volume of which Dan Beard would approve.

To put it to the test, I gave a copy to two actual boys, Simon and Jonah, the closest things I have to nearby nephews. (I have to say their mother was not thrilled with the book's title, especially considering these two often mistake themselves for elven archers.)

13-year-old Simon says:

The "Dangerous Book" is a very clever bit of writing. It encompasses all of the things that kids don't think about much these days, like semaphore flags, building a go-cart, famous battles, and things like that. It's full of experiments, projects, and random facts. If you open it up to any page, you'll probably have learned something when you close it.

For example, there are instructions on how to build a trip wire. It requires fishing line, batteries, tinfoil, and a clothespin. Then there's a paragraph detailing how real trip wires are used and where it works best. On another page, you can find information on how to cook a rabbit, or tan leather.

All in all, it was quite good. It would have been nice if the information was ordered in some way, rather than randomly throughout, but this is definitely a cool and interesting book.

And 11-year-old Jonah says:

"The Dangerous Book for Boys" is a very cool book. it has all the things that an energetic boy would want. it shows all kinds of things like how to make a tree house, the rules of soccer, and how to make a bow and arrow [see what I mean?]. It also has some very interesting diagrams that show things like the different pirate flags and the fifty states. This book is a fantastic work of art.

Thank you, boys. Now don't get your mother mad at me and put an eye out or anything.

(Actually, what makes the book "dangerous" isn't that it's filled with risky activities; it's filled with information and ideas. These days, thinking for yourself automatically makes you dangerous, especially if you're under age 18.)

Among the instructions for playing marbles, making secret ink, "extraordinary stories," cloud formations and bits of Shakespeare is a chapter entitled "Girls." It is not aimed at girls, rather it is aimed at helping boys understand girls: "[A]s a general rule, girls do not get quite as excited by the use of urine as a secret ink as boys do." Indeed. The eight bits of advice will endear just about any boy to just about any girl. I would add only: Learn to dance.

The only thing wrong with this book is that there is no companion book for girls (though my oldest girl thinks it's pretty nifty and there's no reason a girl wouldn't enjoy it, really). At least that was my first thought; upon reflection, the bookshelves for girls these days are bent under the weight of thousands of tomes; let the boys have their moment. Even so, this house would welcome a "Dangerous Book for Girls," as long as it's not pink. If it were pink I'd have to chuck it at the publisher's head.

Get your bored boys The Dangerous Book for Boys, equip them with the (minimal) supplies on the first page, and stand back. They'll have a full summer!

The shoes look good and I am happy with them out of the box. This is my first purchase of this brand. Maybe it is just my feet, but I find they lack support for anything other than very light walking. Now you have a strange world to explore. Later you acquire a gun, voodoo doll and cannons by completing quests assigned to you by various characters in the game. As you complete your quests notoriety is gained and leveling is risen as fights are won.

At many times during the game one may be surrounded by enemies, most of the time it takes provoking to engage in a battle. Simply stay away from the higher level enemies at first to avoid a good swift butt kicking. However much higher level creatures and ships may be defeated when the situation involves more than one pirate. Just gang up on the enemies with your fellow online 'hearties'.

This is were I think I am missing out on a lot of the games design intent, socialization and pirates forming crews. I am not a very social player, helping others only when the situation arises. Occasionally another player will get on my ship and man a cannon.

The high seas...my favorite part of the game. You get two ships one small and one large. I like the small one it seems easier to maneuver during battle. The larger one may be able to inflict and sustain more damage I'm not sure. When engaged in high seas battle right click and hold down to adjust the view of your opponent this is crucial to winning. After sinking the enemy ship you are rewarded with booty. As with normal combat, players can work together. Players cannot harm each other but if you want to fight other gamers online you can do so in a special mode.

I have barely scratched the surface of this interesting game. At level eight I am still a rookie running around this world completing tasks and sinking ships for fun. I have to also mention I am playing the free version, to cheap to spend the five bucks a month for all kinds of upgrades. In summary I give this game a 10!

Computer games and videos are frequently subject to a wide range of popular stereotypes. As with almost all the stereotypes of course, most of those that relate to computer games are entirely inaccurate and out of date.

One of the most popular methods that has been around for many years is that computer games and video games are usually or almost entirely played by boys and girls either very rarely played computer games or video games, or perhaps those girls that did play video games are in some way geeky or nerdy.

In fact, back in the early 90s it was more often the case that girls were playing online web based games rather than boys. This statistic goes against people's assumptions absolutely and entirely and when games manufacturers and designers realized the fact that girls were the largest market for online game they decided to try to develop video games and computer games which would take advantage of this large market and began developing games which appealed more to girls.

One of the most popular and successful games developed in the 90s specifically to target this large female population was the Sims, which has since been re released and reproduced many times taking advantage of the increasing developments in computer and video games technology and with an increasing number of add-ons that develop the capabilities of simulation software.

Another assumption as common is that characters within video games and computer games which happen to be female tend to be either very sexist or at best chronically outdated stereotypes. In fact most of the female characters in modern video games and computer games tends to be very dominant characters, very strong characters, and characters that have a leadership role which actually portray women in a very positive and strong way.

Many girls who play modern computer games actually find that the female characters in the video games provide them with role models that help them in their own lives and that the strength of personality and the fortitude with which these female characters tackle issues and problems provides added strength of character to the girls when dealing with real life issues.

Whilst it certainly is true to say that mainly boys play video and computer games and in fact the majority of gamers tend to be male although even to this day female players form the largest part of those online gamers rather than video or computer based, is it is also true to say that within many of these computer games there are female characters which are grossly stereotypical and can in some cases be considered to almost be offensive.

However if one is to be entirely fair when launching such criticism at computer games it is worth bearing in mind that many of the male characters in these video games are just as distorted and grossly stereotypical as the female ones, although generally this seems to be noticed or complained about far less frequently.

Whether this is because boys tend not to be concerned about the stereotypes or whether they simply don't notice them is unclear but clearly it is not in the best interests of games manufacturers to include characters or images which could be considered offensive when the market for gamers is at its broadest.

The older I get the more determined I am to not have to settle. When I was young I always could pick out the most expensive item in a store, at least that is what my mother says. Not much has changed in 50 years. My desire for quality has simply grown more quality conscious.

Although I wasnt born with a silver spoon I never wavered from my standards. Sure, over the years, I have had to settle at times. For example, at one time I owned an older Mercedes Benz, but at least I owned one. I say owned because it didnt take me long to figure out that the repair bills were higher on my Benz just for the name.

My taste in clothes is much the same. I have been happily inducted into the fashion police club. I remember fondly the year I spent working for Chase Manhattan Bank in the executive wing in Tampa, Florida before they merged with J.P. Morgan. There were three of us that hung out together. We would rate the way the other employees were dressed and sometimes it was pretty bad. We werent cruel or rude, we just quietly giggled over lunch.

I also remember well a visit from my baby brother, Steven, down from Atlanta, Georgia. I met him at the Tampa Airport and when he saw me again for the first time in six years he exclaimed, Wow sis, you are gorgeous! That made my millennium for sure!

My taste for fine wine and food is no different than my tastes for anything else. I may not drink $100 bottles of wine every night but I have enjoyed a few. And then there is chocolate; my one true vice.

I have a real love/hate relationship with chocolate. I love it when it is dark, creamy, and rich but as for my hips, well I think you understand. I have eaten all the best chocolates you can name, from Godiva to Ghirardelli, from Swiss to Belgian. However it wasnt until early in 2006 that I discovered the absolutely, unmistakably, most fabulous chocolate you could ever begin to imagine.

The bakery that I discovered that will forever satisfy my chocolate fantasy is located about 12 miles south of Los Angeles in Whittier, California. My Little Taste of Italy is owned by Gloria Mount and her daughter, Liz. From my very first order of Chocolate Chip, Chocolate dipped biscotti I was hooked. Then, late last year Liz came up with a recipe for Cappuccino Brownies that are out-of-this-world! They are so rich and creamy that Jan Verhoeff, another of their loyal customers, has rightly dubbed them, Orgasmic! I have yet to try their Bada Bing-chocolate bundt cake but since it has my favorite ingredient in it you know it will not be long before it too passes over my quivering lips.

I dont know what their secret is, but I, for one, am certainly glad they found it. Gloria has informed me that My Little Taste of Italy uses authentic Italian chocolate in all of their chocolate goodies. I dont know what else they do that makes them sooooo yummy, but whatever it is I hope they never stop doing it. Its no wonder to me that they are gaining a reputation for all of their tasty treats not only across America but in foreign lands as well.

Mama Gloria, as Mrs. Mount is known, is working on several taste sensations for the upcoming holiday. She tells me that they have developed two new flavors of biscotti and a new Florentine cookie she calls Hot Mama. I wonder what that secret ingredient is.

Resident Evil 5, the sequel to Resident Evil 4, is the fifth game in the series. It is currently under development but people have started talking of it. What did they heard about it? Not much about the Resident Evil 5 has been yet revealed by its developer CapCom. Few details have been released about the game. The concept is believed to be similar to Black Hawk Down. The gameplay as announced by the producer, Jun Takeuchi, will be similar to Resident Evil 4. Then what else will be included in the Resident Evil 5.

It is the most anticipated game of the year and it is not going to be released in 2008 too. Resident Evil 5 was announced in 2005 but its release date is pushed forward sometime in 2009. Developers had also stated that the darkness concept of Resident Games will diminish. Players can hunt zombies in the sparkling light instead of the dark. This will be a totally new concept in the series to be introduced through Resident Evil 5. Besides zombies, two new enemies will also be introduced in the game. They will be different from zombies and ganados in the sense that they will posses more intelligence and weapons than their predecessors.

The plot of the Resident Evil 5 will be set in an Africa. First human being was originated in Africa. But in game, Africa will be shown as the land where viruses were originated. Resident Evil 5 will also feature improved graphics and lightening effects. Players can go outside at different moments of the day as well as in different weather conditions. Player's ability to work in light and darkness will be based on the real human ability to work under such conditions. In Resident Evil 5, player will take sometime to adjust accordingly as the humans do.

Resident Evil 5 gameplay and controls are highly based on the Biohazard 4. Capcom will announce latest news about the game at E3 conference that is going to be held in July, 2008. There have been issues associated with the Resident Evil 5. Controversies became part of it before it is released. Resident Evil 5 came under the controversy of racial discrimination. Criticizers concerns about how white man is shown as the hero while black zombies in the African village. They believe that it is not zombie shown as black but the black Africans shown as zombies which really looks to be.

I think Resident Evil 5 like previous Resident Evil games will be a major hit for the Capcom. The game will surely demonstrate itself. Resident Evil 5, after being released, will be acclaimed by many reviewers and criticizers despite of few controversies that will become its forgotten past. I also believe that the issues of racial discrimination shown in Resident Evil 5 will just let the world know what's all happening in Africa and how the people are being treated there. We all know how dodgy AIDS or HIV could be, and through Resident Evil 5 developers have made the efforts to show the same thing. So I give full marks to the Resident Evil 5 for the efforts that it will be making to raise the personal standards of the people of Africa directly or indirectly. I hope Resident Evil 5 proves to be super hit.

Many gaming websites that are on the internet are all pretty much the same. On every front page they have the newest and more anticipated games that are going to be released as well as the latest news in the gaming world. They all pretty much score their games out of 10, they all have cheats and walk-throughs. Plus they all have reviews. I'm sure many of us are all familiar with gaming reviews, and many of us have been to some form of gaming website in the last little bit. Now here's my question, is it just me or do many of the video games reviews on every gaming site seem. . . the same?

Actually I think I like the idea of that, a video games reviews website that has actual game reviews written by actual gamers. You know, the gamers who know these games completely inside and out and can tell you everything that is totally wrong or right with the game, easily at the drop of a hat. These gamers love these games and play them all of the time, what better way to find out a certain game, then through these people? They are the ones who spend their hard earned cash on the games and use their free time to play them.

As was mentioned before, many of the reviews from all of the well known gaming sites, all seem the same and it seems to me anyway, that they are all written by the exact same people. I'm not sure about many gamers, I can only talk about myself. However when I'm interested in a video game I'm the type of person that I will go to a video gaming website and just check out the score out of 10. However once I've done that, I'll go read all of the gamers reviews about the game to find out how they feel about it, and I'll talk to my gaming friends about the game as well.

Personally I think it would be cool to have a website that has video games reviews written by the actual gamers who love the game. To me, there's no other way to find out about a game then by somebody who loves to play it in their spare time for hours. I'm not the type of person who is really interested in reading a review by somebody who may or may not be a gamer, or by somebody who has only played the game through maybe once or twice. I'd rather read it from the true gamers, who are playing each and every day. Who knows better about the games then them?
