This fun online game a person could get hooked on. The setting is similar to the movie. You design a characters size, sex and shape before taking on the Caribbean in a pirates shoes(or sandals).

Kick your way out of jail(you don't die here but put in the jail, closest to were you were defeated in battle. If you loose a battle at sea you return to the jail at the last port you sailed from.)

Now you have a strange world to explore. The British military, undead pirates, giant wasps, alligators, bats and many other dangers face you (the pirate) and your rusty sword the weapon you start with. Later you acquire a gun, voodoo doll and cannons by completing quests assigned to you by various characters in the game. As you complete your quests notoriety is gained and leveling is risen as fights are won.

At many times during the game one may be surrounded by enemies, most of the time it takes provoking to engage in a battle. Simply stay away from the higher level enemies at first to avoid a good swift butt kicking. However much higher level creatures and ships may be defeated when the situation involves more than one pirate. Just gang up on the enemies with your fellow online 'hearties'.

This is were I think I am missing out on a lot of the games design intent, socialization and pirates forming crews. I am not a very social player, helping others only when the situation arises. Occasionally another player will get on my ship and man a cannon.

The high seas...my favorite part of the game. You get two ships one small and one large. I like the small one it seems easier to maneuver during battle. The larger one may be able to inflict and sustain more damage I'm not sure. When engaged in high seas battle right click and hold down to adjust the view of your opponent this is crucial to winning. After sinking the enemy ship you are rewarded with booty. As with normal combat, players can work together. Players cannot harm each other but if you want to fight other gamers online you can do so in a special mode.

I have barely scratched the surface of this interesting game. At level eight I am still a rookie running around this world completing tasks and sinking ships for fun. I have to also mention I am playing the free version, to cheap to spend the five bucks a month for all kinds of upgrades. In summary I give this game a 10!

Computer games and videos are frequently subject to a wide range of popular stereotypes. As with almost all the stereotypes of course, most of those that relate to computer games are entirely inaccurate and out of date.

One of the most popular methods that has been around for many years is that computer games and video games are usually or almost entirely played by boys and girls either very rarely played computer games or video games, or perhaps those girls that did play video games are in some way geeky or nerdy.

In fact, back in the early 90s it was more often the case that girls were playing online web based games rather than boys. This statistic goes against people's assumptions absolutely and entirely and when games manufacturers and designers realized the fact that girls were the largest market for online game they decided to try to develop video games and computer games which would take advantage of this large market and began developing games which appealed more to girls.

One of the most popular and successful games developed in the 90s specifically to target this large female population was the Sims, which has since been re released and reproduced many times taking advantage of the increasing developments in computer and video games technology and with an increasing number of add-ons that develop the capabilities of simulation software.

Another assumption as common is that characters within video games and computer games which happen to be female tend to be either very sexist or at best chronically outdated stereotypes. In fact most of the female characters in modern video games and computer games tends to be very dominant characters, very strong characters, and characters that have a leadership role which actually portray women in a very positive and strong way.

Many girls who play modern computer games actually find that the female characters in the video games provide them with role models that help them in their own lives and that the strength of personality and the fortitude with which these female characters tackle issues and problems provides added strength of character to the girls when dealing with real life issues.

Whilst it certainly is true to say that mainly boys play video and computer games and in fact the majority of gamers tend to be male although even to this day female players form the largest part of those online gamers rather than video or computer based, is it is also true to say that within many of these computer games there are female characters which are grossly stereotypical and can in some cases be considered to almost be offensive.

However if one is to be entirely fair when launching such criticism at computer games it is worth bearing in mind that many of the male characters in these video games are just as distorted and grossly stereotypical as the female ones, although generally this seems to be noticed or complained about far less frequently.

Whether this is because boys tend not to be concerned about the stereotypes or whether they simply don't notice them is unclear but clearly it is not in the best interests of games manufacturers to include characters or images which could be considered offensive when the market for gamers is at its broadest.

The older I get the more determined I am to not have to settle. When I was young I always could pick out the most expensive item in a store, at least that is what my mother says. Not much has changed in 50 years. My desire for quality has simply grown more quality conscious.

Although I wasnt born with a silver spoon I never wavered from my standards. Sure, over the years, I have had to settle at times. Then, late last year Liz came up with a recipe for Cappuccino Brownies that are out-of-this-world! They are so rich and creamy that Jan Verhoeff, another of their loyal customers, has rightly dubbed them, Orgasmic! I have yet to try their Bada Bing-chocolate bundt cake but since it has my favorite ingredient in it you know it will not be long before it too passes over my quivering lips.

I dont know what their secret is, but I, for one, am certainly glad they found it. Gloria has informed me that My Little Taste of Italy uses authentic Italian chocolate in all of their chocolate goodies. I dont know what else they do that makes them sooooo yummy, but whatever it is I hope they never stop doing it. Its no wonder to me that they are gaining a reputation for all of their tasty treats not only across America but in foreign lands as well.

Mama Gloria, as Mrs. Mount is known, is working on several taste sensations for the upcoming holiday. She tells me that they have developed two new flavors of biscotti and a new Florentine cookie she calls Hot Mama. I wonder what that secret ingredient is.
